The daily lists are good for finding stocks that have just started rising and so there is room for more rise in the immediate future. They can also give second chance to exit if market is not in good shape. As proven time and again, these also help finding stocks early on before they take off. Some examples of that are Justdial (120%), Somanycera (200%), Adanigas (350%), CGCL (150%), Saregama (300%), Prajind (300%), etc.
Important note: No stock goes up a lot without first showing up in either of the two lists here.

Note:
Most stocks fell today. But in the morning more fall happened and some recovery which also struggled to hold through the day. This is little pullback from the high levels.
I found one study that in the last financial year, low quality, low growth stocks outperformed high quality, high growth stocks. These kind of movements can confuse one on selecting good stocks to invest. Whatever stocks we select, we should follow as per the original plan and adjust only if some major events occur. Usually value stocks are good for long term holdings as investors can catch up eventually and even their business grows more at sometime or other, so we do not have to chase and screw up with mistakes in the chase.
