Note:

Today another bounce happened like a dead cat bounce although this feels different from the last one because some stocks jumped huge today. Moreover the number of stocks in the dlist1 should be more than 10 for a reliable positive sentiment in the market. Today that is not the case. if smaller daily candles on both sides can indicate that momentum of fall is taking a break. We can see if a new low is not made in 10 days from the last, then that momentum has run its course.

As many stocks that had long bull run, ended up with wildly high PE values, huge jumps may not happen immediately after huge fall. High PE is usually good, investors expecting future growth. But sometimes sentiment can change in the market in such a way that it looks bad. Even 50 PE looks bad now, which was ok few months ago. Blissgvs fell so bad on Friday after results, it jumped to recover most of that fall today.

All parameters in the market have some impact. And they can get back to impact some day if not all the time. So we need to keep them in mind when assessing a stock. Maybe this is why stocks making all time highs have less negative things weighing them down. To get into uncharted territory, the negative parameters are already overcome. So at different phases of the market, different things are playing out. I am feeling usually after some uptrend after a long term downtrend, many stocks that missed the run also go up. Then a pullback and the uptrended stocks jump again. Then valuations become high and only growth stocks with value get picked up. As such surviving way through ups and downs requires taking care of fundamental parameters in screening stocks. But when buying before bottom and selling before major crash, one can play with most stocks. That timing doesn't work well for all investors. So one needs to understand one's ways and limitations and select stocks accordingly.

Note:

Again a big fall day today but not as bad as the last week one. Looking back at the nature of these lists, there are obviously more than 10 stocks on a normal day. When it is less than 10, market is in bad shape, as I noted earlier from 2020. So selecting stocks from this is rather tedious amongst many. But observing the potential of some of these, if we have a watchlist built or portfolio holding, it makes it easier to focus on stocks that show up once in these lists. Because before the big movements they show up once. Some stocks do show up and not go much further, owing to their challenges. So this does help to demarcate these two types of stocks in hour holdings over time. Which helps to keep the winners and remove the losers as is said by any successful investor. I am using the idea to watch the moving ones so as not to focus on non-moving ones. Because focusing on non-moving ones leads to frustration. But the watching can be done ultimately for managing both the stocks. But some timebound expectation and observation of their business growth prospects should help to remove lagging stocks that do not perform.

Note:

Today's move started as a dead cat bounce and appeared to rise more after sometime but stayed as a dead cat bounce by eod. It pays to select stocks with good fundamentals as those that jump in very bullish conditions, some of them struggle now with poor growth, some were only rising on some news (like acquisition or merger). This happened in 2022 and happening now. Interestingly ELECON which was a consistent multibagger till end of 2023, and made new high till recently fell badly after its quarterly result last week. When I closed my position in it few months ago, I took the high PE and prolonged uptrend as enough reason and star a new SIP after a downtrend. I had seen ELECON company shares rising and falling since 2006. Maybe it won't grow like some stocks have grown from small cap to large cap, as it had chance since 18 years. But it is only my speculation. Understanding its business direction and any change in its products can give a better idea on that. It's time I start focusing on such things as well. As with current trading based on these lists, I am just tracking the small cap index. Adding the business information could help improve returns beyond the indices.
